Yesterday, the nomination of Jorge Messias to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) was finally submitted to the Senate. The nomination will be reviewed by the Senate’s Constitution and Justice Committee before being voted on by the full chamber. Also yesterday, Senator Rodrigo Pacheco formally joined the PSB party, confirming his departure from the PSD. Despite the move, he has not yet made a final decision on whether he will run for governor of Minas Gerais. The Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Rogério Ceron, stated on Wednesday (Apr. 1) that the provisional measure establishing a diesel subsidy for states is expected to be published “no later than next week.” According to him, 23 states have already signaled support.
