Opposition lawmakers continue to mobilize following a decision by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes imposing restrictions on the movement of former President Jair Bolsonaro. One of their main goals is to build momentum around constitutional amendments limiting single-justice decisions and establishing eight-year term limits for Supreme Court justices. Even with Congress in recess, the Executive Branch remains focused on responding to the tariff hike announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Vice President and Minister of Industry and Trade Geraldo Alckmin is leading the response. This week, the government is also expected to begin reimbursing retirees who faced unauthorized deductions from their INSS benefits.
